Congress
Congress is a legislative body of students that convenes once a week to resolve issues and organize initiatives that were brought up in Circle. Through Congress, students can make real changes in the Avalon School and community by writing bills and organizing committees. All students and visitors are welcome and encouraged to visit both Circle and Congress.
In the past Congress has…
- Organized a Staff Appreciation Day
- Published an editorial in a local newspaper discussing the importance of charter schools
- Organized a weekly lunch clean-up crew
- Given students the option to eat lunch in the café
- Revised the open lunch policy
