Apply to Avalon for grades 7-12
The on-time application deadline passed on March 1. Everyone who applied by that date was notified by mail about next steps to secure a place for 2012-13. We are almost at full capacity for next year, so it is highly recommended to get an application in as soon as possible if you are interested in joining the Avalon community in the fall. Once we receive an application we will contact you about availability.
We are currently full for the 2011-12 school year in all grades. If you would like to get on the waiting list for the remainder of this year, please fill out an application. The applications may be emailed as attachments to Carrie at carrie@avalonschool.org or mailed to Avalon School, 700 Glendale St, Saint Paul, MN 55114.
Steps to Enrollment:
Step 1
A prospective student visits the school with a parent/ guardian, either at an open house, presentation night, or through a scheduled tour, and an application for enrollment is submitted. Please see our calendar for dates of open houses and presentation nights.
Step 2
The student spends half of a school day at Avalon “shadowing” a current student. Students can shadow from 9am-12pm or 1pm to 3:40pm. Students applying for 2012-13 will be scheduled for shadowing appointments.
An application signed by the parent/guardian must be on file before this shadow experience will be scheduled. The high school student will be expected to complete a “Project Proposal” during the visit.
A prospective middle school student will be expected to complete such activities as assigned by middle school staff on that day.
Step 3.
A final enrollment meeting is scheduled to complete necessary paperwork and share expectations.
